Two more Ohio University students have received major nationally competitive awards, this time for their active commitment to community service.

Two Ohio University students have landed highly competitive awards from U.S. government-sponsored programs that provide scholarships and fellowships for individuals pursuing degrees in sought-after fields.

Five Ohio University students have earned prestigious Fulbright teaching assistantships for 2008. Four Ohio University winners will travel to Germany and the fifth will head to South Korea.

The National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi has selected Ohio University senior Patrick Heery as a Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellow and awarded him the Alfred M. Wolfe Fellowship, one of seven named fellowships reserved for top-ranking nominees.

Six Ohio University students recently earned 2008 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Ernest F. Hollings Scholarships, two more than all previous years' recipients combined.

With four-year institutions limited to four nominations for the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, Ohio University couldn't have fared much better. Three nominees earned the scholarship and the fourth earned honorable mention.
